Hello from Pastor Mary Lou

Welcome!   You have found the website of Lord of Mercy Lutheran Church in Sparks, Nevada.  Lord of Mercy is the only ELCA church in Sparks and one of four in the greater Reno area.  We like to think of ourselves as a "friendly and welcoming congregation" in a fast-growing community, and we would like to invite you to come and experience that friendliness as we welcome you to worship with us.

God called me to begin my service at Lord of Mercy on July 1, 2004, and I find Lord of Mercy to be a very exciting place to serve, and I know you would also find that to be the case.

We are working on our website, and I hope that it will be a place where members and friends can find a valuable source for information regarding our congregation and where people seeking a church home will find Lord of Mercy to be a place where they can become involved in a faith community, worship God, develop the gifts God has given them, and serve Jesus Christ.

From time to time, I will use this page to address some concerns, try to answer some of your questions or just share a reflection or two concerning matters or issues of the ELCA, the Sierra Pacific Synod, the Sierra Conference, and Lord of Mercy Lutheran Church.
