Medical clinic in La Isla, Guatemala City A project of La Iglesia Agostina Luterana de Guatemala
Padre Horacio Castillo serves this ELCA partner church in La Isla, a very poor barrio formed when indigenous rural people fled Repression and genocide in the countryside of Guatemala in the 1980s. With partner congregations and Aid Association for Lutherans, we provided $2,500 for the completion of this clinic in 1999 and arranged for medical equipment worth approximately $3,500.
Habitat for Humanity Home, Reno 1996
Karla Reid and her two young girls invested 500 hours of their labor and pay back a loan without interest. Lord of Mercy Members, supported by a grant from Aid Association for Lutherans, and assisted by others from churches in the community, arranged for the materials and labor to build this house.
