1. SUNDAY AND FESTIVAL WORSHIP

Singers to brighten Christmas and Easter. No experience necessary. Rehearsing Wednesdays at 7:00pm.

2. LAWN CARE

Assist those presently doing lawn cutting by taking a weekend in the rotation.

3.SOUND ENGINEER

Record and copy sermons for our shut-in members and others who might want them. Run sound mixing board for worship.

4. SUNDAY SCHOOL TEAM TEACHER

Teach with another adult. Help children come to know God’s love. This is an important outreach of the congregation. Two year maximum commitment.

5. SUNDAY SCHOOL AIDE—

The job for you if you’re not quite ready to teach yet. Help with projects, assist young children.

6. SUNDAY SCHOOL SUBSTITUTE

Can’t commit every Sunday, but would be available to fill in?

7. WEEKDAY ADULT BIBLE STUDENT

Like to join Pastor in a weekly study during the day? Join us at the weekly BBBB (Brown Bag Bible Buddy) meetings Wednesday 11:30 am to 1:00 pm

8. YOUTH GROUP ADULT TEAM LEADER—

Our young people are real assets. We need several adults on the leadership team.

Need to be willing to spend some time and enjoy young people. You might bring a skill to share.

9. CALL VISITORS BY PHONE WITHIN 24 HOURS.

Would you like to call people to thank them for visiting? 80% of visitors called within 24 hours will return next Sunday.…

10. LIGHTING ENGINEER.

Have visions of computer-guided light and laser shows? This job just means changing light bulbs as needed.

11. GARDENER.

Do you have the green thumb that would nurture our plants? How ‘bout the muscles that would weed the gardens?

12. WEED CONTROL ENGINEER.

How is that different from a gardener? A weed control engineer just has to tell the difference between a flower and a weed—and pull the weed

13. MAILING PERSON.

A small group of people gathers on Tuesday mornings once a month to mail the newsletter. A good time is had by all.

14. NEWSLETTER PRODUCTION

Interview new members, put newsworthy items into print, make sure our activities are properly advertised to the congregation.

15. SERVE ON PLANNING & BUILDING COMMITTEE

This committee will become increasingly important as we grow. It will care for our new property and begin to integrate plans to expand.

16. OFFERING COUNTER.

The offerings are counted in the church office each Sunday. If you can count without using fingers and toes, this job’s for you!

17. RESPITE CARE

With training, could you sit by the bedside of a sick person at home while a spouse got an hour or two to shop, go to a park, or see a movie? Could you watch the two children of a single mom who feels overwhelmed?

18. PRAYER CHAIN

Being willing to receive a phone request to be in prayer for someone, and then after prayer, to call the next person on your "chain."

19. COUNCIL MEMBER

Church Council terms are 2 years. You attend monthly meetings, head a committee doing things important to Lord of Mercy.

20. DRAMA FOR WORSHIP.

If you think drama could be effectively used to share the Gospel during worship and at other times in our congregation, please join others who think the same.

21. PAINT—

If you love to paint, and were waiting for this to show up on the list, here it is! Immediate opportunities in the office and other interior spaces.

22. VISIT SHUT-INS

If you enjoy visiting delightful members of the congregation, a once-a-month visit is just the thing you need. Our valuable members will get visited twice as often as when Pastor visits now.

23. ALTAR GUILD

This group sets up for communion and other worship needs, and cares for altar ware and worship furniture. Banners and vestments also are part of the job.

24. W.E.L.C.A.

Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America meets monthly for a potluck lunch and has done much to remodel and care for the church.

25. CAMPING DIRECTOR

We’re surrounded by marvelous mountains and lakes. How about a cam ping adventure for the congregation from time to time? If you can organize it, you are welcome.

26. CREATE AN INTEREST GROUP OR A PEER SUPPORT GROUP TO __________

Lord of Mercy already accommodates community groups, but we don’t do many of our own. Would you like to see a special small group?

27. CONTACT PERSON FOR SHEPHERDING GROUP

If we divided the congregation into area-based groups of a dozen families, would you host an occasional meeting and maintain a phone tree?

28. ELECTRICAL REPAIR

We have at least one light fixture and some other repairs and alterations which need to be made.

29. PLUMBING REPAIR

We need somebody "on call" to assist with plumbing repairs.

30. CONTEMPORARY CHOIR – 9:00AM

Be a song leader for contemporary music at our 9:00am service. A solo voice isn’t ecessary.

31. WORLD HUNGER ADVOCATE

Work with other interested people under our Social Ministries Committee to stay informed about issues of hunger, globally and locally. Do projects which will raise awareness and directly address needs.

33. THRIVENT BRANCH OFFICER

This fraternal benefits branch does many things which support our ministry. A program coordinator is needed for a one year term. Any Thrivent policy holder is eligible.

34. ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY HELPER

Lord of Mercy is now responsible for 1.5 miles of Pyramid Highway on each side, from Queen Way north. We need to pick up trash four times each year.

35. MAKE UP YOUR OWN MINISTRY

Now that you’ve read the previous  items, if you don’t find exactly the ministry you want to undertake, please jot down a brief suggestion on the response sheet and let us call you to find out more.
