Sunday School

Christian Education for age 3 through grade 8 takes place each Sunday morning at 9:45 am from September through May. 

The curriculum through grade 6 is a comprehensive curriculum developed by Augsburg, which seeks to give basic biblical knowledge and a joyful sense of our relationship to God. Our policy is to have two adult teachers for each class, with adequate substitutes to assure a high quality educational experience.

Adult Instruction
"Journey to Faith"

Adult Instruction is held periodically. It serves to prepare people for membership in Lord of Mercy, for baptism (if not previously baptized in a Christian church), and as a refresher course for life-long Christians. It is led by the pastor.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a two year course of study designed for 7^th and 8^th graders. Classes meet on Monday evenings, 5:30-8:00 pm and are led by the pastor. The Rite of Confirmation at the end of this period of study gives these young people an opportunity publicly to affirm their baptismal vows. The course is both biblical and topical, and also features study in Luther’s Small Catechism.
