IN COMMON WITH OTHER CHRISTIANS,

Lutherans believe there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God of us all

We affirm the three early ecumenical creeds of the Church

We have a rich tradition of worship and praise

We care for the needs of people

We have a fervent expectation that God’s rule of justice and compassion, now among us in part, will one day find its completion

• Lutherans emphasize that God has restored our relationship to him by God’s free gift, through Christ—and we accept this good news in trust and faith
• We acknowledge that Scripture alone is the authority for faith and life
• Good works and ethical action are the fruit of our new relationship to God
• We value historic expressions of worship—some of which go back to Jesus himself—while we seek to keep our worship fresh and relevant for today
• We believe that as a Reformation church we have a special obligation to cooperate with other Christians to seek the unity of the family of God
